I just saw this story on BarDown, Bridgeport Sound Tigers goalie David Leggio was about to face a 2 on none breakaway when he made a “play”. In what they call a moment of brilliance, Leggio simply took his net off the moorings. Read more

The AHL season is now three weeks old, and things are starting to take shape. The Milwaukee Admirals haven’t missed a beat from day one, the Albany Devils are still without a regulation loss, all the while Kris Newbury is lighting it up for the Bears in Hershey, PA. Perhaps the best news of all though, is that every AHL team has now recorded a win, as the Iowa Wild finally earned two points for the first time this week. Week two of the AHL season has come to a close. The Milwaukee Admirals’ strong play from week one carried over as they had another strong week. The American Hockey League began its 79th season this past weekend. Some teams had a great opening slate of games, while others would like to move on as quickly as possible.
