The top-seeded Manchester Monarchs took the first game of their series with Portland on Thursday, winning 5-2 thanks to two-goal efforts from Jordan Weal and Brian O’Neill. Vincent LoVerde scored as well in an empty net, and added two assists. Jean-Francois Berube’s work in goal was essentially cut out for him as he saw just 16 shots, but let two of them in. Read more
