Colorado Avalanche: Nathan Mackinnon and the sophomore jinx

Nathan Mackinnon had a terrific rookie season taking home the Calder Trophy in 2013-2014 by notching 24 goals and 39 assists.

This season Mackinnon has been right in the middle of Colorado’s slow start. He has only posted 4 points through 10 games, and hasn’t been the same force on the ice. If the young forward doesn’t increase his production the Avalanche could be in for a long season. Read more

Patrick Roy on Martin Brodeur: “Everything is possible, but I’d be very surprised.”

Patrick Roy addressed the media today and discussed the possibility of the Avalanche going after UFA goaltender, Martin Brodeur. “Not right now,” was his initial response. Although Roy was smart enough to say, “everything is possible, but I’d be very surprised.” Read more
