Connor McDavid speaks about hand injury, would do it again
Connor McDavid spoke to the local media today at the Eerie Otters practice facility. He discussed his hand injury and the fight that shook the hockey world. Yes, that last sentence was soaked in sarcasm.
“I just got into it and he dropped his gloves; I’m not just going to sit there and take punches.” Connor McDacvid obviously had taken enough abuse and didn’t want anyone else fighting his battles for him.
While many it the hockey world will quietly applaud him, the anti-fighting establishment will certainly not change their thoughts on the matter. Asked if he had regrets, McDavid replied “I think it was the right thing to do and I’d rather fight than turtle or anything like that. There’s not a whole lot you can do in that situation.”
Connor McDavid still has the inside track at 1st overall and believes he will be ready to play for Canada in the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship this December 26th. “It will come down to how I prepare. If my legs are in good shape, it shouldn’t be too hard to get back into form.”
