We continue our new feature: Hockey Living by looking at every hockey player’s favorite summer event – weddings? Enjoy.

A broken engagement and extra wedded bliss occurred for seven NHL players, in July, kicking off a summer of love and heartbreak.

Let’s get the bad news out of the way with Alex Ovechkin and tennis star, Maria Kirilenko calling off their wedding.

Here’s the pic that might have set it off:

Hopefully, Alex will rebound and have an amazing season. Now to the good stuff.

Boston native and Canucks Center, Nick Bonino got hitched, July 4th, to former BU Woman’s Hockey Team Forward, Lauren Cherewyk.  If you were thinking of getting them gifts… UPDATE: their wedding registry for Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn have been fulfilled. Taking center stage, the couple enjoyed a reception filled with close friend and relatives, capping the weekend off at Fenway Park for a Red Sox game.

Ryan McDonagh of the New York Rangers married his High School sweetheart, Kaylee this summer. You wonder if Pierre McGuire will add that in his commentary on his next NBC Rangers telecast.

David Moss, Right Wing of the Coyotes, also married July 4th, in Milwaukee, to girlfriend, “Real Housewife of Scottsdale” and Survivor: Tocantins contestant Erinn Lobdell.

Moss’ nuptials received a higher note when on July 11th. While on his honeymoon in Turks and Caicos, he received word that he would be returning to the Phoenix Coyotes for one more year at $800k. It will be his third season with the valley team.

If you are thinking of a great wedding and re-signing present, look no further than Moss and Lobdell’s wedding registry. All that is left is tupperware from Macy’s and some measuring cups from Crate & Barrel.

Current Maple Leaf’s Left Wing David Booth was married on June 21st to Tennesee beauty queen Ashley Durham in the fields of Montana.  Booth said of his wife, quoting country singer Justin Moore’s “My Kind Of Woman,”

“Knew that was my kind of woman first time I saw her   She’s good with a cane pole good with a gun   She’s my kind of woman good as they come.”

His wedding present from the Vancouver Canucks, earlier in the month, was a buyout, making him a free agent for the Leafs to pick up, due to his groin injury that he miraculously recovered from for his wedding day photo.

And if it wasn’t getting any better for Stanley Cup champion, Sochi 2014 gold medal winner and LA King Forward, Jeff Carter was married July 12th to Megan Keffer in a very casual ceremony in London, Ontario.  There were no reports of Stanley Cup cake, but in fact, Carter brought home the real deal.

Lastly, Dustin Byfuglien finally married his girlfriend of 10 years, Emily Hendry. The couple have a two-year-old daughter Kira, who thankfully, is sleeping in her own bed as per mommy.
