The New Jersey Devils needed offensive help and after signing 32-year old forward Mike Cammalleri to a 5-year deal worth $25 million on Tuesday, it’s hard not to say they have taken a big step towards solving that problem.

Last season Cammalleri appeared in just 63 games for a rebuilding Calgary Flames franchise but was still able to record a team high 26 goals and 19 assists. So, there is still some gas in the tank and if he can stay healthy Cammalleri can score 30 goals a season in his sleep.

The Flames had tried everything they could to extend Cammalleri, but he was never interested in returning to Calgary and decided to leave Alberta instead of hanging around for the rest of the rebuild.
